Hello, I have the same problem and still M-Audio has not responsebility! I shut down my PC, I’ve removed the power cable and waited for 5 minutes. M-Audio has not yet released any news on compatibility for El Capitan, though the Profire has already been discontinued and will not be updated for support. I’m a little behind the time as I only recently managed to get my Pro working profire 610 mac Yosemite. It seems like the virada had a validation date or something. As noted, narrowing down the possible causes is a great start.

You have to make sure you download the beta drivers though.

Not yet, I know they recommend testing it on another computer if you’re fortunate enough max have access to one with firewire, to see if it’s a problem with your computer or the interface itself. It would be good to know about profire 610 mac or work around or I’m going to have to ditch this ! Its a wonder to me why they are discontinued, but because profire 610 mac is a outdated unit.
